Getting to New Harmony
New Harmony is in the southwest corner of Indiana. It is a 3-hour drive from Louisville, St. Louis, and Nashville; 3 1/2 hours from Indianapolis; 4 from Cincinnati; and 6 hours from Chicago. See below for detailed directions.

From the east or west
Take I64 to New Harmony Exit (4) and follow the signs to town. The Rooming House is on your right as you drive into town on Church Street about half a mile from the State Road 66 turnoff.

From the north
Take US 41 to I64 west to the New Harmony Exit (4). The Rooming House is on your right as you drive into town on Church Street about half a mile from the State Road 66 turnoff.

From the south
Take the Pennyrile Parkway to Henderson, KY. Then take US 41 to Evansville, then Indiana 66 west to New Harmony. The Rooming House is on your right as you drive into town on Church Street about half a mile from the State Road 66 turnoff.

Detailed directions from I64
From I64 exit 4 (Griffin/Historic New Harmony exit) go south on Hwy 69 seven miles to second blinking light (see Historic New Harmony sign). Turn right onto Hwy 66 West (becomes Church Street). You'll pass a nursing home on the right, then the gas station. Go approximately two more blocks and see The Old Rooming House on your right (916 Church St). Pass the house and take the next right (First Street), turn right again into the alley, proceed half a block and park in back of the house. See the chalkboard on the back porch for your room number and any special messages.
